Hey there, friends! Welcome to our first monthly blog progress report.

Did you know that around 7.5 million blog posts are published every day? That’s so much! So I am grateful that this tiny blog was being read by you now 🙂

I started this blog at the end of January 2024, but for this report, I’ll begin with the data from February.

Can you believe it’s already been a month since we started this journey together?

Time flies when you’re passionately pursuing your dreams!

Before diving into the specifics, I’d like to share my blogging goals for the year to set the directions moving forward.

BLOG GOALS FOR THE FIRST YEAR

Setting clear goals is crucial for guiding our journey in the first year of this blog.

I had outline three main objectives over the coming months:

1. Write around 96 posts in my first year.

This equates to writing 8 posts per month or 2 posts per week, which is quite achievable.

By the end of March, I aim to have written at least 16 posts, putting us on track to achieve our target of 96 posts by the end of the year.

However, prioritizing quality content over quantity is essential to ensure that each post delivers value to you, my audience.

2. Get 10,000 page views in a month.

While I have some experience with blogging and SEO, I’m still learning and growing in this area.

My focus for the initial months will be on implementing effective SEO techniques, as it requires considerable effort.

Recently, I’ve launched a Pinterest Business account and created several boards. My plan is to create three pins for each blog post and share them across relevant boards.

Additionally, I’ve begun building my email list with a goal of reaching 500 subscribers within the first year.

Once I achieve success with SEO, Pinterest, and email list building, I’ll explore promotion on social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.

Furthermore, I’ll actively seek opportunities for guest blogging and collaborations with fellow bloggers and influencers. In today’s digital landscape, forging connections and partnerships is crucial.

3. Make $500 total net profit

I plan to explore opportunities to monetize this blog through affiliate marketing, Ads and links to my Etsy shop.

HERE’S MY BLOG PROGRESS REPORT FOR MY FIRST MONTH BLOGGING

Let’s dive straight into the numbers, shall we?

Below, you’ll find a detailed breakdown of our targets versus the actual progress made in the past month.

Description               Target             Actual

Blog Posts                       8                           10

Pageviews                      50                         29

Pinterest Followers     10                          0

Email Subscribers       5                            1

Blog Posts

My original aim was to publish 8 insightful blog posts throughout the month.

I’m excited to share that I surpassed this goal, delivering a total of 10 articles packed with valuable tips for effective financial management.

I’m eager to maintain this momentum in the coming month.

Pageviews

Growing an audience requires time and patience, and I’m thrilled to see some views coming from outside the UAE.

Although Google Analytics reported 347 pageviews in February, I suspect some of these are from me checking my website.

To ensure accuracy, I removed views from my current country (UAE) and added others.

Receiving 29 views isn’t bad, and I’m hopeful for an increase next month.

Pinterest Followers

Although the blog’s Pinterest presence is still in its early stages, I’m actively engaged in strategies to expand our reach on this vibrant platform.

In addition to daily pinning, I’m focused on engaging with other users, utilizing relevant keywords, and participating in group boards to attract more followers.

I’m also experimenting with different pin designs and descriptions to enhance visibility.

While I’m yet to reach our goal of 5 followers, each day brings new opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals and grow the blog presence in the personal finance community.

Follow me on Pinterest.

Email Subscribers

While my email subscriber count didn’t meet my initial goal, each new subscriber is a chance to build connections and offer more value.

I’m thankful for my loyal subscriber’s support and excited to nurture and expand our community in the coming months.

LESSONS LEARNED ON MY FIRST MONTH BLOGGING

Be patient.

I often need to remind myself of this as I tend to desire fast progress and instant results, leading to frustration.

It’s important to understand that growth takes time and consistent effort.

Lesson: Embrace the journey, stay motivated, and keep pushing forward, even when results aren’t immediate.

Stay consistent.

Consistency is crucial for cultivating a loyal audience and achieving your objectives.

Even when it feels tough (as a full-time employee), I should honor my commitments by consistently showing up as promised.

Lesson: Stay devoted to posting consistently and interacting with your audience to keep them eagerly returning for more.

Write for your audience.

When crafting content, it’s crucial to prioritize your audience’s perspective.

Personally, I sometimes tend to write what feels right to me, but it’s essential to empathize with my audience to truly grasp their needs, preferences, and interests.

Asking questions like, ‘Does this provide value to my audience? Are they able to understand my ideas?’ is key.

Lesson: Tailor your posts accordingly to resonate with them and deliver value that meets their expectations.

CONCLUSION

As we wrap up our first month together, I’m thrilled by the progress made on my financial blogging journey!

I exceeded my goal of 8 posts, hitting 10 insightful articles.

While my pageviews and followers are still growing, each new connection is a win.
